Caroline Anderson serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Product for Essence Healthcare. In her role, she is responsible for Essence Healthcare’s financial performance, benefit strategy, and new market expansions, working cross-functionally to deliver on growth, financial, and member experience objectives. 

Prior to joining Lumeris, Caroline led a portfolio of Medicare Advantage plans with UnitedHealthcare in Virginia and launched new plans in Maryland and Washington DC.  Caroline’s career has been focused on transforming emerging markets through growth. Her experience includes benefit design, expansion strategy, launching value-based care partnerships with health systems and primary care providers, and managing quality and risk. 

Caroline received her Masters of Science in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Colgate University.  Her public health background and passion for addressing health disparities carries through her work in Medicare Advantage. Caroline lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and two daughters.
