Mary Snyder serves as President of Markets for Lumeris, accountable for the P&L, driving growth, retention and profitability among our value-based care customers and product offerings.
Prior to joining Lumeris, Mary spent three decades leading business development, marketing, strategy and P&L functions across various sectors in the insurance and healthcare industries. She most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer for UnitedHealthcare’s Northeast Medicare business. Her accomplishments over twelve years at United included standing up innovative Star programs to improve from 10% to 93% of members in 4+ Star plans; tripling revenue and doubling New England Medicare Advantage membership over four years, increasing market share 6 pts to cover nearly 1-in-3 Medicare Advantage members in the region; increasing the percent of lives under VBC from 65% to 81%; and, improving the employee engagement rating from 80% to >96%, the highest in the company.
An anti-ageism champion, Mary has partnered with organizations focused on helping older adults thrive. She has sat on the Executive Committee for the Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and spearheaded collaborations with the Maine Council on Aging and the Tri-state Learning Collaborative on Aging. Mary has personally supported the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute, a non-profit whose mission is to raise the confidence and aspirations of high school girls by helping them develop skills required to be leaders in their lives, families, careers, and communities.

Mary and her husband John are empty-nesters (except for their dog Jack!) with four adult children and a newly-acquired son-in-law. Together they enjoy traveling, boating, biking, cooking and any time spent outdoors embracing the New England seasons, especially by the ocean. They live on the Massachusetts Southcoast.
